Louisiana’s Great Flood of 2016

As Senior Pastor of New Day Christian Centre, I am asking for your prayers and support for the people in South Louisiana that have lost  everything they own from this tragedy. Many are returning to their homes for clean up with only the clothes on their back. Electricity is not restored to all areas.

Our community and New Day has responded, but this is going to be a very long process of recovery. The people of Louisiana are resilient, but will need our help for a time to come.

Please join us at New Day as we continue to pray and minister to all in need. Donations will greatly be appreciated.

Yours in Christ,
Pastor Herman B. Holland

Dear God,

As followers of Your word and teachings, we are called to set the example to those hurting and in need from this flood that has descended upon our land.

Give us all the fortitude to carry out compassionately to all in need. Take our hand and walk with us through the rubble and destruction. Give us the ability to know in our heart that You will never forsake us. Let us understand that by accepting our fate and suffering; You are giving us the opportunity to broaden our faith and giving us a deeper understanding of trusting in You.

Yes, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and grief. Our future may look bleak but help us remember that our Saviour experienced these same feelings.

Give us all the ability to help our neighbors in every way possible to ease the feeling of isolation and hopelessness.

Let all the people in this impossible and dark time yield all their worries and anguish into Your hands.  As they relinquish to You, let a balm of peacefulness and courage enter into their soul and heart. Let Your light shine through the darkness and wrap Your arms around all in need.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”    ~ Romans 15:13
