Health is the state of perfection and soundness, a precise description of God our Creator in whose image we were created. (Genesis 1:27)
Healing is the process of restoring our health, but healing is not limited to just physical problems. (James 5:13) “Is anyone among you afflicted? Let them pray”. I firmly believe the reason for this is to build personal faith.
(Acts 3:16) “By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.” The faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness. The lame man walked by his faith in God the Son. Also, the suffering of the afflicted builds endurance. Hebrew 12:1 tells us to run, keep moving forward with endurance in the race for our healing that we hope for in the end.
By the afflicted praying, it helps form a habit of consistent discipline which creates a focus of wellness. Most importantly, this time praying develops a one on one relationship with Christ our Healer. Affliction or suffering offers the opportunity to those who are experiencing these things to engage with God in the process of restoration.
FAITH – The substance of what we hope for. (Mark 11:22)
PRAYER – the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avail much. (James 5:16)
FOCUS – Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrew 12:2)
Our faith moves God to release power to flow into our circumstance as we pray focusing on Jesus for help in the time of need.
